“In October, WFP [the UN World Food Programme] will be able to deliver 60 percent of what they have been delivering. In November it will be down to 40 percent,” John Ging, director of operations at the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs told Reuters Wednesday in Geneva after attending an unannounced meeting on humanitarian aid to Syria.

“It is because the money is not coming in. This is devastating news for people who are aid-dependent,” Ging added, noting that more aid is needed as winter approaches.

“So we will find humanitarian agencies cutting down on aid deliveries when aid is needed more than ever,” Ging said. “It is not just food, it is vital shelter material, clothing and supplies for water and sanitation.”

The expert noted that the WFP needs $56 million to avoid cuts in food assistance in Syria’s neighboring countries, so it is highly likely that the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq, will not get the necessary assistance.

The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) states some 3 million Syrian refugees have registered in Syria’s neighbouring countries.

The highest concentrations of refugees are found in in Lebanon (1.17 million), Turkey (830,000) and Jordan (613,000), according to UNHCR.

UN PANEL PAYS OUT OVER $1.2 BILLION IN REPARATIONS FOR IRAQ’S 1990 INVASION OF KUWAIT

United Nations

United Nations The United Nations Compensation Commission (<“http://www.uncc.ch/“>UNCC), which settles the damage claims of those who suffered losses due to Iraq’s 1990 invasion of Kuwait, today made $1.24 billion available to the Government of Kuwait.

With today’s payment, the Commission has disbursed $43.5 billion, leaving approximately $8.9 billion remaining to be directed to the only outstanding claim, stated a <“http://www.unog.ch/unog/website/news_media.nsf/(httpNewsByYear_en)/AACDE58294E89727C1257C0E00386FA2?OpenDocument“>news release issued by the Geneva based Commission.

This category E claim was submitted by the Government of Kuwait on behalf of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and awarded $14.7 billion in 2000 for oil production and sales losses as a result of damages to Kuwait’s oil field assets. It represents the largest award by the Commission.

Successful claims are paid with funds drawn from the UN Compensation Fund, which receives five per cent of the proceeds generated by the export sales of Iraqi petroleum and petroleum products.

The Commission was established in 1991 as a subsidiary organ of the UN Security Council. It has received nearly three million claims, including from nearly 100 governments for themselves, their nationals or their corporations.

Are the Producers of the US of A Play – Starting to Make Themselves Known

Can Billionaire Philanthropists Replace the Federal Government?

Some wealthy individuals are using the government shut-down to promote a very different vision for America’s future.

When the clock ran down on congressional negotiations and the federal government shut down on October 1, preschoolers across the country were locked out of their Head Start centers. But then, Laura and John Arnold, a billionaire couple from Houston, made a personal gift of $10 million to Head Start. The Arnolds, with an estimated net worth of $2.8 billion, amassed their fortune before either spouse turned 40, through careers in the oil industry, particularly John’s energy trading hedge fund, Centaurus Advisors.

Ace News Group – Editorial:

This is an excellent article from the Nation and brings me to the real players that people have heard me mention so many times, either in the form of the producers of the play, or those that manipulate the worlds resources. I do not mean the bankers or the oil men ,they are bad enough. These are the people who stand in the wings of the theatre  waiting for the final curtain of the US of A Plan, to fail!

They have waited in the back ground just for the right time, when they can wield their power of money, this will not be the end, but the beginning of the end. This will be when all laws, rules and regulations can be changed, at the stroke of a pen and the almighty $!

This war will not be with weapons of mass destruction, even though these are bad enough for the those that are on the receiving end! This war will be fought out with who has the most money, power and control over the minions who do their bidding, for payment of course! These hidden people are given many names, from the Bildebergs, illuminati  with the real money such as controlled by their chosen few, these named the Rothschild’s or Rockefeller’s! Though the real identity of the controller’s is still unknown ,and will remain so until such time as the curtain of this US of A play finals falls, and the American Dream is finally over for the people who unknowingly were manipulated to the tune of the real producers, and eventually the writers of the script, that started in earnest after World War 2, and will end on floor of the senate very soon, but only when the controllers say so, and not a second before!

UN’S OVERALL FINANCIAL SITUATION IS ‘SOUND’ BUT ‘TIGHT,’ SENIOR UN OFFICIAL REPORTS

The top United Nations management official today said that the Organization’s budget is sound but urged Member States to meet their financial obligations on time.

“The financial position of the UN is sound… however the situation is quite tight for the regular budget,” Yukio Takasu, Under-Secretary-General for Management, told journalists in New York.

Following his briefing to the Fifth Committee – the General Assembly body dealing with administrative and budgetary issues – Mr. Takasu said that cash positions are projected to be positive at the end of this year but “significant amounts of assessment remain unpaid.”

In connection with the Organization’s regular budget, he said that unpaid assessments amounted to 36 per cent or $945 million out of the $2.6 billion. The figure is up from $855 million at this time in 2012. Meanwhile, available cash in the regular budget cash totalled $55 million as of 1 October.

The number of Member States which have paid in full their contribution to the regular budget increased to 134 by the 5 October cut-off date, compared with 129 at this time in 2012.

“This demonstrates the very strong commitment and support of Member States to the United Nations,” Mr. Takasu said.

The United States, Brazil and Venezuela are the top three Member States, in that order, with unpaid assessments of $795 million, $75 million and $22 million respectively, Mr. Takasu said.

Fifty-six other Member States owed the Organization $53 million for the regular budget.

He noted, however, that the US had paid more than $1.56 billion dollars in September to UN peacekeeping operations.

The outstanding assessments for peacekeeping operations, the second of the overall’s budget four areas, increased $3.4 billion as of 1 October compared with $1.3 billion at the end of 2012.

“This sounds alarming, but it shouldn’t be,” Mr. Takasu said, noting that scale of assessments changed this year and the UN Member States could not be notified of the final figures until January, thereby slowing down the payment timeline.

As for outstanding payments to Member States for contributing troops, formed police units and related costs, Mr. Takasu said the Organization is projected to cut this amount from $525 million in December 2012 to $423 million by the end of this year.

India, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Rwanda, and Nigeria top the list of the countries to which payments are owed.

For international tribunals, unpaid assessments amount to $60 million, relatively stable from $63 million at this time last year.  In addition, the Capital Master Plan (CMP), related to the ongoing renovations of the UN Headquarters in New York, only has $1.6 million in unpaid assessments out of $1.87 billion.
