Today the People Pay Ten Million for the Emperors New Clothes

On the face of it this seems a great deal for the voluntary sector and how they can provide help for the homeless, but the real truth is that it saves this government having to support the NHS!  As in the long run they want to change our health service into a privatised and fee paying one ,for those that can afford it! This is similar to the US Healthcare system that was based on the amount of money you could afford to pay for your health insurance, that Obama has tried to wipe out! So the UK Government will lead its people down this path, providing contracts for the likes of Atos!
So watch this space because what is done today, is a blind and only those that look for the truth, will find out the real truth about how the taxpayers money is really being spent! As keeping people out of hospital and freeing up A & E looks good, but it allows other projects in a mess like the NHS Direct Number 111 and also other third-party contracts to thrive!
Enabling resources to be provided above the normal prices and below the standard the people who are ill should expect.
Extract from the Guardian 29/07/2013 The organisation originally won 11 of the 46 contracts to provide the 24-hour service in England. It had put a value of £43m a year on the contracts, but says its predicted income is £21.2m.
The story that comes to mind is the “Emperors New Clothes” and as we know the people was so scared of the Emperor they would not speak, as the Emperor had also been blinded by the truth of the tailors deception, but one poor and wide-eyed youth, saw the truth and spoke, these words out loud ” The Emperor Is Naked As Naked As He Was Born” then like all sheep the people agreed and they laughed and laughed!
Are you those people who are blind as it does not affect your life, or are you like the youth, that told it as it really is, or are you a sheep or a lamb!
Judge for yourself?

Well here is the article simply copied and pasted need the link to prove it here it is:

Fifty two projects have been awarded a share of £10 million to make sure homeless people receive better help once they leave the hospital, Public Health Minister Anna Soubry announced today.

It is estimated that homeless people attend A&E up to six times more than people with a home – and that now 70 per cent of homeless people are discharged back onto the street without their housing or on-going care needs after hospital being properly addressed.

The projects are run by voluntary sector organisations who will work with the NHS and local government to make sure homeless people get the best possible support and care after they leave the hospital. This will help reduce the number of homeless people who are readmitted to hospital.

Some of the organisations receiving funding will provide:

  • Specialist training for hospital staff on the needs of homeless people;
  • Support to make sure their care continues after discharge;
  • Teams to support homeless people find accommodation that takes into account their health needs; and
  • 14 care beds for people discharged from hospital thanks to over £1million from the fund.

Public Health Minister Anna Soubry said:

In today’s society, it is not acceptable that people are leaving hospital with no plans in place to discuss their ongoing care needs.

The £10 million we have awarded to these 52 projects will help stamp out the bad practice we know exists in some trusts when homeless people are discharged from hospital and make sure they have the support and care they need.

Housing Minister Mark Prisk said:

This Government is working hard to make every contact count, ensuring that homeless people have access to the help and support they need wherever they are – from the housing office to the hospital bed. Today’s funding, backed by a further £470 million Government investment in homelessness prevention, will reach people in need when they’re at their most vulnerable, getting them back on their feet more quickly, and saving local services the ongoing bills for repeat treatment.

Then he was replaced by a new minister!

National Insurance Contributions Bill will deliver a £2,000 a year tax cut for businesses and charities.

The Bill contains legislation for the Employment Allowance which, from April 2014, will give businesses and charities a £2,000 tax cut off their National Insurance Contributions bill.

Infographic on the National Insurance Contributions employment allowance.

Benefiting up to 1.25 million businesses, this action taken by the government will result in around 450,000 businesses – or one-third of all employers – being taken out of paying National Insurance Contributions altogether.

Privatisation Backdoor Style

Sometimes with a back-door in politics, evolves a plan, with the aim to change the promise made by a chancellor! This plan has been months in the making, and the next step is to remove the fence that has ringed the NHS funding for many a year, and it will shortly be dismantled! And with it all the promises made since the introduction of the ” Community Care Act” in 1990! It will be washed away “like throwing the baby out with the bath water,” and what a baby it is, having been nurtured since inception in 1948! So you ask what do l mean, well simply back in 1979 when Margaret Thatcher came to power, the rot set in and everyday since that time it carried the nails in its side (like Jesus, just waiting for the time of the next Conservative Government, to finish the job she started! Well her legacy of privatising the NHS is nearly realised, as various MPs gather to sound the death knell of our beloved, yet beleaguered health service! Leaving in its wake a disjointed, broken-up and battered organisation, ripe for the picking!Soon those nails so carefully placed by Margaret Thatcher will become so painful that we will be told by the chancellor, there is no choice the NHS cannot have guaranteed funding and it will slowly die on the cross of “#ProfitB4People and “Care In The Community” will be no more, unless you can afford to pay!!

LATEST:// 30/04/2013 at 6am today.

Six centre-Right policy institutes say it is “not sensible” to define some public services as “sacrosanct”, as two think-tanks favoured by Labour criticise the ring-fencing of funds for schools, health and international development.

The independent Institute for Fiscal Studies also warned that other public services would suffer more “pain” as a result of the “sub-optimal” approach to reviewing government budgets. Read full story at: Cut-Aid-& NHS-Cash-George-Osborne-Told

Cameron Mired in Controversy over EU Payments

European Union

European Union (Photo credit: ana branca)

Just had to post these extracts today from these selected papers courtesy of  Medhis Morning Memo, that just makes me say true oh so true !

Tory backbench rebel Nadine Dorries recently claimed that the ‘splits’/Europe related headlines in the newspapers have started to remind her of the Major government in the mid-1990s. It’s difficult to disagree with her when you look at some of the Sunday papers this morning. Here’s the Sunday Telegraph splash:

“Cameron in new EU cash fight”

The paper reports:

“The Prime Minister will use a European budget summit later this month to call for far-reaching changes to the EU’s £279billion structural funds, which cost British taxpayers more than £4billion a year.

His move will delight Conservative backbenchers after the Government was defeated in a Commons vote on Europe last week, but risks a new rift with his Liberal Democrat Coalition partners.”

Then there’s this story in the Mail on Sunday:

“A senior minister was on the brink of resigning from the Cabinet to join the Tory revolt against David Cameron over the Brussels budget, it was claimed last night.

The Mail on Sunday has been told that the unnamed Minister ‘weighed up the pros and cons’ of resigning to lead a new anti-EU faction in the Tory Party, before backing off at the last minute.

Was it Iain Duncan Smith? Asked on the Marr show this morning whether he’d “stay in” the EU if he had a choice now, IDS dodged the question.

From the Mail on Sunday:

“A rebel Tory MP had secret talks with Ed Balls as part of the plot to defeat David Cameron in Wednesday’s shock Commons vote on the EU budget crisis.

Harwich MP Douglas Carswell discussed the rebellion with a member of Shadow Chancellor Mr Balls’s entourage to make sure the rebel Tory-Labour ambush was carried out with deadly effect.

The two men discussed in detail how to dovetail their political guerrilla warfare tactics and prevent the Conservative leadership gaining vital time needed to scupper it.”

My enemy’s enemy is my friend?

Ace Finance News : Says!

This infighting between parties has to stop for there to ever be any chance for this government and the coalition, to reach any form of impasse on the EU budget question!

If we cannot get a decision within the parties concerned, what hope is there for the future of any Europe partners, or even the existing coalition! As eventually each will tear each other apart like rabid dogs, at an all you can eat banquet, of what is mine is mine!

The fact that for many years the UK has under other successive governments paid billions just to be part of EU members club and this has not allowed them through to the VIP lounge, with the likes of Merkel, Draghi and even Monti, should have at least told them something!

So what does the UK really want and WHY!European Union

Well being apart of the EU has given them a status in the world and allows them to trade more successfully, than many non-eu partners, but according to our balance of payments deficit it has not made their country prosperous! On the contrary it has led to higher unemployment as many companies saw a way to decamp to other countries and outsource their goods with cheap labour! Oh yes these companies have profited at the cost of the UK and its chance of  European Union prosperity!

So really what they want is to profit as other people are made worse off and their living standards slip, leaving a country built on a non-manufacturing and exporting base, providing goods built with cheap labour and making huge profits! Of course these are not invested back into the UK to make it prosperous, but into offshore funds that pay no taxes! To eventually arrive back on UK mainland, as investment bonds for the banks to control and make even more profits!

Then my simple question is – can Cameron and this government afford not to pay for their place at the high table, even though at the present they are just waiting for the scraps, that the VIP’s may eventually throw!

Heseltine’s Plans-Get Cautionary Seal Of Approval-But Get It Right Or Else

Commentators are beginning to digest the recommendations contained in Lord Heseltine’s report on regional growth. David Cameron praised the report as excellent. Birmingham City Council’s initial reaction has been extremely positive, according to the Birmingham Post. The FT advises caution on calls for decentralisation, pointing out that the Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPS) that shout the loudest may get the funding. Those LEPs may not have the necessary expertise to spend wisely, the paper contends. John Longworth head of the British Chambers of Commerce is quoted in the FT on LEPS: “Some LEPS are fantastic, but others are appalling, with unwieldy boards and too many objectives. On these, local councils are too dominant and businesses have given up because the bureaucracy is too great”. The FT also reports that some LEP leaders are threatening to walk out unless they can make “real progress on the ground” soon.

This was snippet of news that l thought required a deeper thought process as to the how, what and why this will not work, in practice! On the face of it Mr Heseltine was commissioned to provide a report to try to whiten, an already tarnished reputation! As had previously been reported in numerous papers that Cameron and Osborne, are out of touch with the general public.

This report seems to be trying to make a ” silk purse out of a sow’s ear” as these so-called austerity measures, really only help those that have plenty and leave those who do not, worse off!  This may seem like a good thing and it is so easy to use the previous governments track record, to blame for our massive indebtedness.

Though if we look deeper we see the cracks appearing way back when this government held sway, with a so-called ” iron lady “ at the helm. Even though we know iron rusts albeit slowly, so this new raft of plans that has been floated, seems a little unsteady in the economic water. The fact that a few of the same organisations and defenders of the government strategy, utter words of praise, they all add a cautionary note of ” it better work and soon” what l ask! Or maybe l should say ” how “ because that is what alludes this government,  simply how do we gain growth and still keep inflation low and at the same time reduce employment and finally most important keep our voters, happy!

The answer is they cannot as one will outweigh the other as we all know and then its back to the drawing board and they start over again, the problem with this new report and it is a real problem – Cameron and Osborne have to first agree and then give something away!

This is simply POWER over the budgetary cheque-book for councils to have the POWER to spend the money their way, without knowing whether it will work! If it does not and when all the money will have been spent! We will all be in a worst debt situation, than we were before! That is apart from the rich and those that decided this new raft would not sink! But really of all the rafts that have so far been been built, by this government all have sunk without trace! So why do they think it will work this time!

Personally at this stage in the proceedings l do not see this government giving anything away, unless it gets something in return in the first place, do you!

Local Councils Are Running Low On Funds

Vince Cable & Sir Merrick Cockell

A reader writes into respond to Merrick Cockell’s warning from last week that spending cuts will bleed councils dry. She says that the cuts are already having a crippling effect on councils, with many dipping into their reserves. Additionally, she notes that many local authorities are at risk of having no money left to tackle unexpected events such as flooding, fire or cyber crime. The reader concludes that council’s need to keep a firm grasp on long-term events.
