VIRGINIA: ‘ GENERAL ASSEMBLY PASSES ETHICS BILL CREATING $100 DOLLAR CAP ON GIFTS RECEIVED ‘

#AceFinanceNews – VIRGINIA:Feb.28: The General Assembly has adjourned, but before packing up the House of Delegates passed an ethics bill.

It creates a $100 cap on all gifts elected officials are allowed to receive, keeps the gift-reporting threshold at $50, and requires travel to be pre-approved by the Ethics Council.

This vote comes nearly six months after former Gov. Bob McDonnell’s conviction on corruption charges.
