#AceFinanceNews – ISRAEL:Feb.22: The Israeli defense ministry has confirmed it will buy 14 more F-35A fighter jets from the US.
This will bring the total number of aircraft owned by Israel to 33, with each costing in the region of $110 million. The latest deal has cost $2.82 billion and will include the development and integration of Israeli combat systems.
The purchases are aimed at consolidating Israel’s aerial superiority in the region and will replace the F-16 models.
The first two fighter jets will arrive at the end of 2016, with the rest being delivered by 2021, the Jerusalem Post reports.
