` Australia’s Richest Men Commission Chinese Company to Build Titanic 2 by 2016 ‘

#AceFinanceNews – AUSTRALIA – April 19 – Clive Palmer, one of Australia’s richest men, has commissioned a Chinese state-owned company to build a 21st Century version of the Titanic.

The mining billionaire told Australian media that construction would start at the end of next year.

It would be ready to set sail in 2016.

The plan, he added, was for the vessel to be as similar as possible to the original Titanic in design and specifications, but with modern technology.

Mr Palmer told Australian media that he had signed a memorandum of understanding with CSC Jinling Shipyard to construct the ship.

“It will be every bit as luxurious as the original Titanic but of course it will have state-of-the-art 21st Century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems,” he said in a statement.

The announcement comes just weeks after the centenary of the sinking of the ill-fated Titanic.

The vessel, the largest luxury ship in its time, struck an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York.

It went down on 15 April 1912, leaving more than 1,500 people dead.

Gazprom: ` Crude Oil Produced in Arctic Circle on First Tanker Purchased by One of Europe’s Major Energy Companies ‘

#AceFinanceNews – MOSCOW – April 19 – April 19 – Russia’s oil and gas monopoly Gazprom has disclosed the brand name by which crude oil, produced at the Prirazlomnaya rig inside the Arctic circle, will be known in the world markets.

The announcement came shortly after the first tanker with ARCO (Arctic Oil) left the platform carrying an oil load purchased by one of Europe’s major energy companies.

The marketing of the new brand was held among downstream companies in North Western Europe in the first quarter of 2014. As production at Prirazlomnaya grows, part of the crude will begin to be provided on the basis of long-term contracts.

“Gazprom has opened a new stage in the development of the Russian oil industry. The first consignment of Prirazlomnaya oil is on the way to the customers. From this moment on the investments in the project are beginning to pay back,” Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said. “Today’s event is of great importance to strengthening Russia’s positions in the world oil market. We have enhanced the flexibility and reliability of oil supplies to practically any point on the globe,” he said.

The Prirazlomnoye oil deposit lies under the Pechora Sea 60 kilometres away from the coastline (the depth of the sea in this area is 19-20 meters). Recoverable oil reserves are estimated at 71.96 million tonnes. The design output – about six million tonnes a year – will be achieved after 2020.

Gazprom began oil production in the area from the off-shore ice-resistant stationary platform on December 20, 2013. More than 300,000 tonnes of oil from this deposit is to be shipped this year.

OJSC Gazprom Neft is the project’s operator, and Gazprom Neft Shelf (a 100-percent Gazprom-owned company) is the subsoil user.

#AceFinanceNews MOSCOW April 19 If Kiev does not…

#AceFinanceNews – MOSCOW – April 19 – If Kiev does not settle its gas debts with Moscow within a month, Gazprom will be forced to switch to a system of advance payments, President Putin has said, adding that the measure has nothing to do with May’s upcoming presidential election in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.

“Moscow is willing to tolerate” the continuing absence of payments for another month, Putin said during a live Q&A session on Thursday, adding that this is stipulated in the existing contracts.

“We don’t mix economics with the political process in Ukraine,” the President continued. “We were simply awaiting the receipt on April 7 of the money owed for the March for gas in March… this was $525 million. Not a cent… by the way, it was being transported at the lowest price, with all possible discounts.”
